MCB Introduction:
MCB Bank Limited is a Pakistani multinational commercial bank that is located within Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan. The Bank has a vast network of 1,551 branches across Pakistan. Pakistani business Nishat Group and Malaysian bank May Bank hold the most shares.
The Bank was created in order to provide banking services for those in the South Asian business community. It was incorporated to the Adam G Group on July 09th 1947. The Bank was made a national institution in 1974 under the administration by Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto. The Bank was among the very first Bank that was privatized 1991 . The Bank was acquired by a group of Pakistani corporate groups headed by Nishat Group. In June 2008, Nishat Group owns a majority share of the Bank. The President of this Bank is Shoaib Mumtaz.
Mian Muhammad is the chairman of both Mansha Group and MCB. The company is active in the business sector of the country that include cement, textiles, banking and insurance. The Bank has established an Islamic banking division to provide products and services based on Shariah that are specialized, including branch offices that offer Islamic banks in the six major cities.
The year 2005 saw the bank’s management changed the name of the bank in 2005 from Muslim Commercial Bank Limited to MCB Bank Limited to explore markets across the globe. The bank was unable to obtain an authorization, particularly from Western countries due to being Muslim. In 2008, the MCB headquarters moved from MCB Tower in Karachi and then to Lahore in a brand new buildingcalled MCB House situated in Ghous-ul-Azam Street, commonly known as Jail Road.
