The Government of Balochistan has established the first emergency service specialized in Balochistan known as Medical Emergency Response Centers MERC that provides healthcare in emergencies.
It has trained and certified Emergency Medical Technicians as well as Medical Doctors. The MERC Balochistan includes 25 Health Centers located on eight major roads of Balochistan Province. All medical centers are equipped with emergency personnel trained with supplies, as well as modern life-saving ambulances.

MERC Balochistan
Government has approved establishment of Emergency Response Centers on all major highways of the Province through PPHI-B. The purpose of the project was to establish 25 centers over the period of 3 years to cater high rate of road accidents. These centers will be established at different points on highways. To cover the RCD (N-25) Highway with a beat size of 50 km we need 14 centers. Central control room will be in MERC Head Office at Quetta with 1122 as UAN. Initial MERC setup will be established in containers (where no buildings available) Two fully equipped ambulances, 2 bikes, 1 rescue vehicle with (knock off tank) will be placed at each center.

MERC 1122 Balochistan has announced job opportunities for Medical Professionals in the form of Monitor Officers and Medical Officers emergency medical technicians, ambulance drivers Nursing Orderly Peons and Helpersand Security Guards.
The vacancies are located at Zhob, Khuzdar, Panjgur, Washuk, Kech, Barkhan, Noshki, Gwadar, Surab, Pishin, Killa Saifullah, Zhob, and Sherani.
Candidates with Matriculation, Middle and relevant diplomas, Masters Degree as well as MBBS Experience and qualifications are eligible to apply for the MERC 1122 Balochistan Recruitment 2023.
